Wow. John Frusciante on Rick Rubin podcasts set me on a dive into the Cure and Joy Division, among many other great bands and records. Holy hour is my fav Cure track and to know it was dedicated to Ian is just perfect. Love both joy division records. Seventeen seconds and Faith are my fav Cure albums.

I was there I started at Giants Stadium and saw 18 shows on the prayer 🙏 tour thank goodness for cheap gas and having a brand new car. And triple A for trip ticks no gps back then lol 😂 all the shows were amazing brilliant and life changing.

I've been listening to this for years. This is one of the greatest versions of this song. I prefer this over the live 1982 versions. The low synth is played in a different way than usual. It adds another element of sadness to the song. Quite an emotional piece.

I noticed the pornography songs after 1981 really started to normalize. Like the era of pornography itself was ending. You listen to the album and you capture it in its strongest purity. The real climax, absolutely genius. It’s so out there for the 80s. It’s really no wonder tim burton took a lot inspiration from them.

As a Cure fan from back in the day, the one brushed past me somehow. It was on the cassette of Standing on The Beach tape, but my tape player sucked back then. Didn't get the chance to absolutely take in every last breath of it's existence like all the other Cure songs I love. Thanks for posting.
